We are open every Saturday from 9am to 5pm (4pm close in the winter time) in the Carfax Market, which is a unique local market with all traders and their produce coming from within a 40-mile radius of the town. To find our stall, look out for the red and white spots, you can’t miss it.
We also sell at Swains Farm Shop, Village Larder, Budgens (Henfield), Union Jack Farm Shop and The Crown Inn (Dial Post).
It all started in 2008 when I used to bake brownies for friends and family for birthdays and Christmas, each time I presented them with their gift, there was always a resounding -
“They’re amazing, you should start your own business selling brownies”
but it took some time to believe in them, and myself, and after a lot of badgering and support from my friends and family along with a few of life’s little traumas to make me realise you only live once. April 1st 2011 saw the launch of ‘Just Brownies’ and here we are today baking brownies for a living – heaven!
I have been a chef since 1999 and during that time I have worked in a variety of diverse catering environments, managing small and large kitchens whilst gaining higher level qualifications in catering and management, along with attaining certificates with credit from the Royal Institute of Public for Health in health and hygiene.
Today, Just Brownies is about supplying good quality, and affordable brownies. My passion is to produce brownies for people in my local area, whilst supporting other local businesses where possible, using eggs laid at a local farm, (Steyning, West Sussex) and where possible, keeping it British. I keep it seasonal, and every batch of brownies is hand baked at ‘The Brownie House’ in Partridge Green.
